School Goals 2025-2026
Goal #1: Identity: creating a school identity around being the Ravens: logo, code of conduct, branding, staff and community engagement
Our first goal this year is to make every student feel like they are a part of our Raven Community, and to build a Raven identity where everyone belongs, feels safe, and is connected. We want each student to be proud to say, “I am a Raven!” and understand what it means to be a part of our school family. To achieve this, we will create student-friendly language that explains our school expectations and values, connected to our new Raven logo.
Goal #2: Numeracy: use a research-based approach to instruction (Math Minds)
Our second goal is to develop a solid foundation in numeracy for all elementary students through a structured, sequential program that emphasizes mastery and builds on prior knowledge. Our objective is to ensure every student achieves proficiency in foundational math concepts by following a progressive, scripted curriculum that reinforces skills through continual revision and gradual addition of more complex concepts each year.
Our School Story:
At Richardson Elementary, we are intentionally building a school community where every student feels connected, valued, and proud to belong. Our overarching goal is to create an inclusive learning community. Over the past two years, our work has focused on two key areas: strengthening foundational numeracy skills through Math Minds and building a shared identity as the Richardson Ravens.
Our Ravens identity work has become woven into the daily life of the school. Through our Code of Conduct, morning Ravens messages, Rockin’ Ravens celebrations, school-wide visuals, and consistent language across classrooms and the office, students are developing a strong sense of belonging and pride. We hear students referring to themselves as Ravens, encouraging one another, and taking ownership of creating a positive school culture. Families and community members have also embraced this vision through increased involvement, support for spirit wear initiatives, and ongoing partnerships with the school.
This work has helped create a more connected and welcoming atmosphere across our diverse school community. Students entering Richardson, whether in Kindergarten or arriving mid-year, are met with a shared culture focused on caring for ourselves, caring for others, and caring for this place.
Alongside this identity work, Richardson continues to strengthen numeracy instruction through the implementation of the Math Minds program. Staff collaboration, consistent instructional routines, and a focus on foundational skill development are helping students build confidence and success in mathematics. Opportunities such as our school-wide Math Festival have also helped students see math as engaging, accessible, and relevant beyond the classroom.
Most importantly, our school goals are helping us create a learning community where students feel safe, connected, capable, and excited to learn. Richardson is continuing to grow into a school where students and families truly feel they belong — a place where everyone can proudly say, “I am a Raven.”
